🃏 Card Selection Strategy

Draft smarter, build stronger hands, win more games

🏆 Draft Priorities by Rarity

Not all rarities are equal. Here's how to prioritize when multiple options appear:

Legendary Always Pick

Priority: HIGHEST — Take over almost anything

Legendary cards swing games. Their effects are powerful enough to build around. If one appears, take it unless you have a very specific synergy already locked.

Epic Usually Pick

Priority: HIGH — Only pass for perfect synergy fits

Epic cards are strong anchors. Take them unless a lower rarity perfectly synergizes with your Chaos card's type AND element.

Rare Context Dependent

Priority: MEDIUM — Evaluate synergy first

Rare cards are the sweet spot. Strong enough to matter, common enough to plan around. Pick based on how well they fit your strategy.

Uncommon Fill Gaps

Priority: LOW — Take for specific needs

Uncommon cards fill gaps in your curve and provide utility. Good for rounding out a hand, rarely worth prioritizing.

Common Last Resort

Priority: LOWEST — Only when nothing else fits

Commons are filler. Their low power rarely justifies inclusion unless they have specific synergy with your build.

⚖️ Synergy vs Raw Power

The eternal draft question: take the powerful standalone card or the weaker synergy piece?

🔗 Favor Synergy When...

  • ✓ You already have 2+ pieces of a combo
  • ✓ Your Chaos card demands specific types
  • ✓ The synergy creates exponential value
  • ✓ You're early in draft (more picks coming)
  • ✓ Element matching bonus is significant

💪 Favor Raw Power When...

  • ✓ The power gap is huge (8+ points)
  • ✓ Your synergy pieces haven't appeared
  • ✓ Late in draft (no time to assemble combo)
  • ✓ You need a standalone finisher
  • ✓ The powerful card is a Multiplier

🎯 The 2-for-1 Rule

A synergy piece is worth picking if it will generate at least 2x its base value when combined with cards you already have. A 3-power card that becomes 6+ with synergy beats a standalone 5-power card.

🌪️ Building Around Your Chaos

Your Chaos card is revealed at game start. Build your Action card picks to maximize its potential.

🔗 Link Chaos

Wants: Chain enablers
Pick: More Links, Link payoffs, 0-cost targets
Avoid: Expensive standalone cards

🎨 Draw Chaos

Wants: Card advantage
Pick: Draw triggers, hand-size bonuses, Combo
Avoid: Narrow situational cards

⚡ Energize Chaos

Wants: Energy payoffs
Pick: High-cost powerhouses, Push effects
Avoid: Too many 0-cost cards

💀 Sabotage Chaos

Wants: Control tools
Pick: More Sabotage, reactive cards
Avoid: All-in combo pieces

🔄 Combo Chaos

Wants: Trigger density
Pick: Cards that count plays, Draw, Links
Avoid: Slow setup cards

✖️ Multiply Chaos

Wants: Base score builders
Pick: Flat bonuses, Auras, more Multipliers
Avoid: Low-value utility cards

Element Matching

Cards matching your Chaos element get bonuses. Prioritize same-element cards when the choice is close.

Your Chaos Element Bonus Draft Adjustment
🔥 Fire +1-2 per matching card Pick Fire cards +1 priority tier
💧 Water +1-2 per matching card Pick Water cards +1 priority tier
💨 Air +1-2 per matching card Pick Air cards +1 priority tier
🌍 Earth +1-2 per matching card Pick Earth cards +1 priority tier
