🔗 Link Chain

Build long chains of linked cards for explosive combos

Medium Difficulty

📋 Strategy Overview

Link Chain uses Link cards to play additional Action cards from your hand or deck. Each Link enables another play, which can enable another Link, creating explosive chains. Pair with Rally effects that scale on "cards played."

Card 1 🔗 Links Card 2 🔗 Links Card 3 🔗 Links Card 4...

Strengths

  • Play many cards beyond energy limit
  • Massive Rally/Combo triggers
  • Card advantage through extra plays
  • Can "go infinite" with the right setup

Weaknesses

  • Needs multiple Link cards to shine
  • Chain can break if Link misses
  • Requires hand management
  • Vulnerable to targeted Sabotage

📦 Example Hand: Water Chain

Total Energy Cost: 8 | Cards Played: 7+ | Expected Score: 35-45

💥 Ripple Effect (Water, Link) Chain Reaction (Cost 2) Helping Hand (Cost 2) Pass It On (Cost 2) Rally Cry (Cost 2) Finishing Touch (Cost 0)

Play Sequence

  1. Ripple Effect—"Link up to 2 extra Action cards" + "+1 per Link played"
  2. Rally Cry—"+2 per card played this hand" (will be huge!)
  3. Chain Reaction—"Link 1: play another Action card free" → plays Helping Hand
  4. Helping Hand (linked)—"Link 1: play another Action card free" → plays Pass It On
  5. Pass It On (linked)—"Link 1: play another Action card free" → plays Finishing Touch
  6. Finishing Touch (linked, free)—"+3, +2 if played via Link"

Score Breakdown (7 cards played)

Chaos (Ripple Effect) Power5
Ripple Link bonus (+1 × 4 Links)+4
Rally Cry (+2 × 6 other cards)+12
Chain Reaction base+3
Helping Hand base+3
Pass It On base+3

*If Ripple Effect Links 2 additional cards, this can go even higher!

🎴 Key Cards for Link Chain

Link Cards

"Play another Action card" effects are the engine of this strategy.

Link Payoffs

"+X when played via Link" or "+X per Link" cards get huge value.

Rally Cards

"Per card played" effects synergize perfectly with long chains.

0-Cost Finishers

Cards to end your chain that don't cost energy to play manually.

⚙️ Link Chain Mechanics

  • Links don't cost energy: Cards played via Link are FREE!
  • Links count as "played": They trigger Rally, Combo, and count effects
  • Links can chain: A Linked card can Link another card
  • Link limits vary: Some cards Link 1, others Link 2 or more
  • Target restrictions: Some Links only work on specific elements or types

⏰ When to Chain

  • Multiple Link cards drafted: Need 2-3 Links minimum
  • Water/Air Chaos: Best Link synergies
  • Rally in hand: Makes the card count matter
  • Against slow opponents: Build your chain while they set up
